My Master's project is titled Look what the cat tapped in: Exploring engaging tablet interfaces for felines. I am researching how tablet applications can be developed to facilitate bonding between cats and humans in cat cafes. Cat cafes can be a very relaxing and peaceful space for humans; however, unfortunately, the same can often not be said for cats. Many cats struggle to enforce their boundaries, and therefore end up being touched in ways that they don't enjoy. Creating novel interaction techniques will allow cats living in cat cafes more bodily autonomy, and provide them with a means of enrichment.

I am currently working with a cat cafe based in the west end of Glasgow. I have performed initial user tests, in order to determine the cats' requirement for my tablet application, and am now beginning the development process, with further user tests planned for the start of 2025
